A great piece in the Onion

The Onion runs a really funny piece saying that Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, apparently for giving some nice speeches. I am still laughing. Even funnier, the link is to the Guardian, not the Onion. The Washington Times carries the same story. Do you remember during the primaries, Hillary Clinton’s shot at Obama?

I think you’ll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say. He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.

Apparently, at the Nobel Prize committee, they thought this constituted praise.

The peace prize committee has embarrassed themselves. As Gollum hates Bilbo Baggins, the committee hates George Bush, and this prize is nothing more than yet another tedious announcement of this. But it is still very, very funny. And there are two other upsides. First, Obama comes back with 10 million Swedish crowns, which is about $1.4 million at current exchange rates. That should be enough to pay for the fancy schools he put his kids in, the ones he thinks poor kids should be kept away from. And it is also entertaining to see ridiculous lefty bloggers wetting themselves over this.
