Blood sport

A friend of mine likes to say that he watches politics because it is the only remaining legal blood sport. I thought of this because I got a request from John Hawkins to list my twelve least favorite left wingers. I had a tough time with this, because there are so many options out there. I ended up sending in twelve names that were particular irritating to me just now. Only two points worth making about my list. First, it included Eric Holder. Holder is sleaze. First, there was his role in kidnapping Elian Gonzalez to acommodate the pro-Castro wing of the Democratic Party, the rock bottom low point of the Clinton administration, and Holder’s famous attempt to lie about it.
ANDREW NAPOLITANO: When is the last time a boy, a child, was taken at the point of a gun without an order by a judge? Unprecedented in American history.
ERIC HOLDER: He was not taken at the point of a gun.
Right.
There was his role in the Marc Rich pardon and clemency for FALN terrorists. The man is sleaze.
Curiously, the guy who wants to let this sleaze run the Justice Department, one Barack Obama, did not make my list. Not because I have changed my mind on him, but because the opportunist is currently royally screwing the nutroots who pushed his nomination. Start with making nice with Joe Lieberman, picking war supporters James Jones and Janet Napolitano, and of course picking Rahm Emanuel, suggesting a willingness to play hardball with the congressional left. Then there is the Larry Summers pick, the delays on repealing don’t ask, don’t tell (I don’t really have an intelligent view on this, but it is fun watching the nutroots go crazy), the possible appointment of John Brennan at the CIA (sending Glenn Greenwald and Andrew Sullivan batty), and reconsidering rescinding the Bush tax cuts. I will complain later. For now, Obama is providing some much needed entertainment.
