The teenage mother of a newborn found smothered in the back seat of a car over the weekend was charged with murder Tuesday, Chicago police said.
The boy was born some time Saturday and found by police in the car on the 700 block of West 103rd Street. An autopsy determined the child had been smothered, and his death was ruled a homicide.
This is a horrific story, about a woman probably unhinged, probably utterly lacking in a support system. Here is something else that is horrific. The story does not say this explicitly, but it is clear that the boy was murdered within 24 hours of being born. If she opted to kill him 24 hours earlier, it would have been perfectly legal, and the usual suspects, everyone from Obama and the Clintons to the MSM, would have defended her, perhaps even calling her act noble for sparing the child an awful upbringing.
