Genocide is a really important unimportant thing

From the Obama website:

1) Genocide does not really matter:

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there.
2) Or maybe genocide does matter:

Barack Obama has been a leading voice urging the Bush Administration to take stronger steps to end the genocide in Sudan.
Where U.S. interests are huge, Obama thinks genocide does not matter. Where U.S. interests are a lot smaller, suddenly he is interested. Is this idiot foreign policy, or is it gross partisanship designed to get himself the Democratic nomination at the expense of America?
