I need a lawyer, dammit!

I am a devoted reader of Professor Bainbridge’s blog, and so when I come across a blurb for a new blog, Truth on the Market, I take a look. The first post is by Geoffrey Manne, a bright lawyer I know of from an email list. And the second post up is by a “Bill Sjostrom”. By who? I did not write that. It turns out there is another Bill Sjostrom. A blogger who is a lawyer interested in economics (unlike me, a blogger who is an economist interested in the law). And the bastard is better looking, too. My wife assures me he is not, but she did it in that reassuring way wives have when they say “Oh, no, dear, you didn’t make a fool out of yourself at the party last night at the Henderson’s when you drank too much and danced on their antique table with a lampshade on your head.” And my daughter, she isn’t talking, although at 21 months, she wouldn’t, I guess.

I am outraged. This is simply not fair. For years, I have put with people looking at the name Sjostrom and saying variations on “huh?”. School teachers who said, not very nicely, “what kind of stupid name is that?” But I figure, at least my brand name is secure. Nope. It is being trespassed on. I need a lawyer to start a trademark infringement suit. Or is it a trespass suit? Well, at least I will never link to their site. And I certainly won’t blogroll them on the right under lawyer blogs.
